Speaking of historics being driven hard - The newest C&D has an interview with Ron Howard which naturally concentrated on RUSH.  He mentioned using classic/historic racers for some scenes and said something that made me smile - "these were wealthy guys who were so cool ...  but not a single owner would let us put our driver behind the wheel"

I thought that was such a great observation - and it came from a guy who has a few bucks in the bank -  guess the racing bug bit him differently....    If I had a 312T I doubt anyone else would drive it either .......

re: Goodwood - one of the Holy Grail of car nut places to visit - along with Monaco, Monza and LeMans.  GW seems to attract a lot of GTOs every year, and all seem to be driven so hard you'd never know they were worth 10s of millions USD.  One of these days ...

For now, Youtube will have to do...  I assume you were there Britt??

Anybody who doesn't think that expensive classics get "really" raced hard hasn't been to the Goodwood TT race at the revival...

Below are some pictures taken yesterday...

The GTO was clouted but finished the race, luckily the body work didn't cut the tire...

Those scrapes won't "buff" out....

Race started dry and after 45 minutes it started pouring.....two safety cars but no black flags... for the first time in Goodwood HISTORY an Aston won the race, probably due to the lighter weight and better handling in the wet...
