        This is what Clyde needs to go along with his ejection seat.

        A couple of videos of a J79 turbojet on a test stand, complete 
with afterburner.  Clyde will recognize this sound as he had two of these 
bad boys pushing him around the skies in his F4 Phantom II.  11,000 lbs 
thrust at full throttle, 17,000 lbs in afterburner burning ten gallons of 
fuel per second.
        These old jets are still used in industrial applications 
(generating electricity, pumping natural gas) generating 15,000 HP at full 
throttle for months or years at time between rebuilds.

        BTW, the YouTube channel these came from (AgentJayZ) is absolutely 
the most fascinating stuff on YouTube if you're a major gearhead.  He takes 
you inside the world of repairing jet engines, with many videos on theory 
as well as techniques and procedures.  Fascinating to see the guts of these 
amazing machines.  Guaranteed to eat up many an evening glued to your computer!
