LOL. Crickets don't make much noise here, probably because the little lizards gobble them up!

I had never watched IndyCar before because I had leftover feeling about CART. Ovals don't excite me at all. Still, since the IndyCar races are in Houston this weekend, I chose to watch. And I discovered that I really liked the spaceship styling of the cars.

And of course, interest in one series doesn't negate interest in another.

Hi Rick,

When it rains here we often get crickets…. And everyone has been stony cold silent since your post – not even crickets - don’t know why! But, hey, I agree the F1 cars have been hit with the ugly stick and they sound funny too but I still watch. I don’t watch Indy here because the races are not regularly broadcast in Sydney.  Also, I have to draw a line somewhere on how much living life vicariously through TV that I do versus living life in the real world!

I don't mean to be insulting with my comments regarding this year's F1 cars. I just find them ugly. Its just my opinion, and you know what opinions are like.



The current F1 formula is so restrictive that the designers have to resort to wild designs to wrestle back performance. Witness the narrower front wings that have grown a multitude of elements to compensate. I am reminded of species that grow bizarre appendages in response to a restrictive environment, then go extinct when the environment changes. (BTW, humans survive environmental change because we're generalists, not because were specialized.)




Or perhaps I'm overly critical of the current Formula 1 formula because today promises to be yet another rainy day...
