good - I hope they keep them up and it spreads to other circuits - it's great for the sport IMO.    It gives a whole new audience access to what it used to be like before seatbelts, fireproof suits, gazillion $$ helmets and steering wheels.    To see someone in a 50s  F1 car with muscular forearms working the steering wheel as the car 4 wheel  drifts (real drifts as opposed to what they do today) through a curve at 120moh plus is a sight to behold.   I read that Fangio used to go through a curve at the Targa and the spinner on his front wheel would just brush the low wall  at every pass.  Granted there weren't that many laps in a Targa but it's impressive just the same...   ;-)

Having a race car eligible for the Monaco historics and doing laps there is the ultimate bucket item IMHO...

Is that a regular thing at the Canadian GP?

Thx

Larry, you should've seen the field at the Canadian GP this year. They had a full brace of historic GP cars...stunning.

Our favorite part of the track visit is always to study and compare the different vintage cars. It is amazing to see how each designer solved problems of packaging, aero, etc.

the subject races have been aired on Velocity lately  I'm sure it will
be on again but I think many of you have Tivo or its modern equivalent
so you have probably seen it --

Just between you & me, IMO. the 60's F1 cars with the 3.0L V8s are the
best looking F1 cars ever.  I'll admit I was smitten by the Lotus 78
ground affects car with its smooth bodywork and flowing lines, but for
purity I'll go with the mid 60s V8s.  ;-)  The Lotus 78's competitors
were equally sensuous in their own way.
