Yes I have that book too. Very very good one too.  I remember reading that companies, factories around the neighborhood had a lot of employes missing work days. When they found out the employes were employed as extras for the film, making A LOT more money than their day job, they worked out a deal with the producers. Don't remember what it was, but I think it was about using extras less hours per day. Not sure.

Have you read 'A French Kiss With Death' about filming of LeMans?
I am a McQeen fan also.

Just spent the day at Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant for "Le sommet des légendes". Bunch of old Formula 1 cars (Ferrari T5, Alboreto's Benetton, Lotus 78, Jackie Stewart's Tyrrell, BRM, Shadow, Jody Scheckter's Walter Wolf, 1980 Candy Tyrrell that was for sale, etc, etc. 1972 Ferrari 312PB. Lots of old INDY cars too (Ralt, Lola, March, etc). Ferrari 1962 250 (the owner clearly didn't want that one to look new. I think it had the original paint on it. It had cracks all over it. It gave it a lot of character. Group C AUDI that won everything at LeMans for many years in the early 2000s. Some very very old cars too. 1930 Alfa Romeo with the Ferrari shield on it. This guy shows up every summer. Same with Mr.Bueller's Villeneuve T5.

Anyway there was a little table with DVDs and books. This one caught my attention because I had never heard of that book and I'm a big Steve McQueen fan. "BEHIND LE MANS THE FILM IN PHOTOGRAPHS" by Michael Keyser. 200 pages of black and white pictures (no colors) taken during the filming of the movie. Once I opened it at home I saw it was First Edition 2011. I can't believe I missed that one. ISBN 978-0-615-52435-1. I paid $50.00.

Another great racing day. For those of you who has been to Mont-Tremblant you know how great this track is.
