Not that it is terribly relevant here, but someone here or on Steve's FB page made mention that Ely is part of Nevada's "Lonliest Highway in America." They have a little passport booklet that you can get stamped at each small town's chamber of commerce or museum, and if you do the whole of Route 50 there you get a certificate. We did the highway in 2011 on our cross country drive in the 1939 Rolls-Royce, and I only wish I had more photos. It was August and the heat was really bad, but overall the memories far outweigh that. I loved the open landscape forever, and meeting people in each of those little towns (including Ely). For the record, I saw no exotic cars in Ely or anywhere else in Nevada that day.

cLyDe, all,

I called late yesterday afternoon and they were NOT answering any lines.

I live in a small California mountain town near the Nevada border.  Unfortunately, Ely is the other side of Nevada (eastern border).   I've been to Ely for the Silver State and  through Ely a few times going to Bonneville.  Its a "one horse town".  It's only real car fame is the starting point of the Silver State Challenge racesI can't imagine anyone selling many exotics there.

Being as they are in a "podunk" town... I wonder if THEY are being swindled by some big city Seattle shyster.

disclaimer:  I am qualified to call Ely podunk.  My town is 20 times smaller...   Besides me though, there is a 360 on the other side of the mountain.

Steve my plan is to call him and let him know I am an airline pilot will be flying in this week to look at the car
And get his bank numbers so I can wire him a deposit because I really want this car badly

I've posted details on my blog here:

Mark Raider of Rogclassics in Ely, Nevada has my F40 listed on LA Craigslist for sale for $545,000. But it's not for sale, and it's not on a truck as he claims.

Please read my blog article for details, and email thread, and details of the phone call I had with Mark when I called him on his fraud.

I will be calling the Ely police next, but here’s where you can help.

Call Mark Raider at Rogclassics in Ely, Nevada at (775) 473-4430 extension 3 and ask him why he’s trying to sell Steve Jenkins’ Ferrari F40.

The police will likely do nothing, but I'm hoping we can teach Mark a lesson that he shouldn't try to sell cars that don't belong to him.

So please call him right now, and then leave a comment on my blog telling me how the phone call went!

I’ll update that thread as more happens. Thank you in advance for your help!
