No, it is about cash flow.

Tech and sport are dead. It is about faux excitement, attracting more viewers, more advertising $$, then Bernie gets richer...
The best F1 action is grainy and on Youtube.

Yea everyone would like to see that as wellBut it's all about budgetsClyde RomeroIn Victory you deserve ChampagneIn Defeat You Need It!If you obey all the rulesYou miss all the fun !Lash,I was really glad to hear the comments this weekend that Luca dM was going to try to save F1 if Bernie, Charlie and Jean weren't. I liked his thought on the drivers being likened to "taxi drivers". Its BS when you are racing to have to manage tires and fuel. Thats "bean counter" racing. Pretty soon they'll be getting "meet your budget" points and green smiley face stickers on their cars if they save more fuel than the others...
I've said it before, F1 needs to be an all out assault of technology and driver skill on speed. Yes its costly but bring back testing. Get rid of restrictions on motors and gearboxes lasting multiple races. (caveat, a small dose of "get it right" should be applied. Motor/trans should last one whole weekend just to keep the engineers on their toes - apologies to my friend Kent on that one.). Bring all the tires to the track and plenty of them. Use what you want and how ever many suit your strategy. Now, do these things drive up costs. Hell ya. Will these things drive the smaller teams out.... possibly, but do Marussia, Caterham and Sauber really add anything to the show other than being moving chicanes that keep the guys with blue flags busy? AND having a multi season lock down on motors that are brand new formula... sorry the FIA and Charlie really had their heads up their ARSES on that one. Honda was smart to beg off a year.
No, they seem to want a dumbed down for the masses, politically correct, environmentally conscious, driver's series.
PUKE
I'd rather see 14 really seriously wicked cars on track than 22 "what could have been" cars.

Rick, thank you for mentioning this.
I have not been able watch F1 with a straight face due to DRS.
How can anyone think this is still a pure sport??
NASCAR and F1 are a lot more alike than one would care to admit.
Thank God for Youtube and "Arnoux Villeneuve Dijon".

So not only do they sanction a huge piece of moveable aero but they don't even invoke it equitably... It can only be used by the trailing driver. If they want an F'ing "driver's series" why don't they just merge with IndyCar. No, they'd rather $hit on innovation. I hate what Charlie and Bernie have done to the sport.
