How did Australian and New Zealand food (and coffee) turn out to be so good then?

Not a rhetorical question. Eating down there was not representative at all of the British stereotype.

Ok, I must be "touched in the head"...   I go to the local Brit pub for Shepard's Pie or Bangers and Mash all the time.  Little HP sauce and the only real dilemma is whether I want the peas served garden or mushy...  OK, I won't drink the Brit beer, warm or cold.  Give me an ice cold Hefeweizen!

Ok guys, don't be rude. Food particularly has changed hugely in the past 20 years while I have been here. I use to crave going back to the states to eat and now if you can't find a good restaurant or cooking in the UK then you aren't looking.

The car scene is really the best. Every weekend in the summer there is a racing event, classic or historical automotive festival or show of some sort and thins in a country a lot smaller than Florida. Yeah the weather ain't always great but the British go out regardless of the weather. For what it's worth this summer has been the sunniest and warmest for 20 years which is as long as I remember and you know that rain coating the LaFerrari? It was the remains of hurricane Bertha hitting the UK Sunday and still the cars were out on display. Anyway if you haven't been to the Goodwood revival than you haven't lived, regardless of the weather I am there again this year.....the racing is just as ferocious in the wet as the dry! Sun isn't everything!

Hmmm – you may have a point here Clyde – when we saw the new RR a number of years ago (BMW had just picked them whenever that was) we got to sit in the back seat of one at the dealership in Los Gatos, CA.  As I am looking at the end of the door, there is this button with RR on it.  Oh that?  Press it - - and out pops a ‘brolly.’

They are Britts, Limeys they love bad weather !

They are born with umbrellas !

People of means over in the UK own huge umbrella's that can cover a whole Mexican Family ( did I just say that!)

They have sex in the rain soak lawns in order to reproduce!

They invented windshield wipers and most rubber articles of clothing we now wear

I am not surprised that they brought the cars out

He'll the car was most likely delivered in a rain storm !

Speaking of shows we had the annual national meet today at Coombe Abbey for the FOC. I had a good chat with Francis and got to see his very nice new 308GT4. Chris Evans had his new LaFerrari on display and we also had a beautiful original California Spider. Considering it was pouring rain for half the day and that the California was driven to the event by it 70 year old plus lady owner ( I'm sure Francis knows who it was) I think it is evident that there are less polishers at our events than other places in Ferrari World! I think you can see the rain from the pictures below.

Cost of trophy at best $100
