Sounds like a great book Michael.  Can this tome be had by the hoi polli and generally unwashed?  And speaking of GTO’s in stages of restoration:

 

Picture this – about 1973 or so, Oakland, CA, I brought over to a metal striping place all the sheet metal for Porsche 912 engine and two bumpers for a 51 Porsche.  No problem sez the operator – we’ll put them in this end of the tank.  Said tank amounted to what could have been an above ground swimming pool – about 15 feet wide by 30 feet long and about 5 feet tall.  Then the operator proceeded to remove an aluminum car body with a frame (?) – a GTO.  I just recall how white the aluminum was and smeared with a reddish Bondo.  So Italian the operator said – they do that all the time.  My my.  If I hadda only known then what I know now - - - alas.

Everybody knows about the HAYNES books.

Sometimes they get special editions on Formula 1 cars. I received their latest from England in the mail today (33 pounds shipping included). Here is their latest:

 

FERRARI 250 GTO 1962 onwards (all models) Owners' Workshop Manual. An insight into the design, engineering, maintenance and operation of Ferrari's iconic GT sports car.

 

What a title!

 

Absolutely awesome book to have. Published since july 2014, 156 pages. Lots and lots of information about all the models. Even a chapter by Nick Mason. Plenty of color pictures of GTOs in different stage of restoration, individual chassis histories (even with original  date of sale), driving a GTO in the 60s by John Surtees, 2-page cutaway poster, special unit on Borrani wheels, unit on transmission. Chapter 3: The engineer's view, Running a GTO today. Etc, etc,etc.

A MUST!
