I think the guy was making the point that you could have A LOT of beautiful reliable modern driveable sports cars instead of one that he is not going to drive anyway.

Seriously though , I gave it some thought and I'm almost positive one could own every Lamborghini model (and iteration) for the price of a GTO. 

Probably every Ferrari from the late '60s onwards.
