So... I didn't receive many replies for brake pad recommendations - do youguys still track your cars? Also, I happen to own a 1969 Firebird 400 4spd matching convertible(probablyless than 500 remain in the world). I looked for 20 years for this carbecause I think it has nearly as pretty lines as my 85 308, however the 308interior is more "Euro Sports Car" with levers, etc and which is why Ibought the 308 and not the 328. According to latest muscle car auction results the Firebird is worth around$65k - more than my 308. Interestingly, I bought my 308 from a carcollector in St. Louis, who had huge garage filled with................American classic/muscle cars...... and one Ferrari 308. There are manymore people in the US with a taste for Bud and muscle, than there are craftbeer and Ferrari's, thus more demand and more $$ chasing Bud and muscle.Mark Lueker-----Original Message-----From: Ferrari [mailto:ferrari-bounces+misc=308systems.com [at] ferrarilist.com]On Behalf Of Fellippe GallettaSent: Sunday, September 07, 2014 12:38 AMTo: MarkCc: The FerrariListSubject: Re: [Ferrari] auctionOn 9/7/14, clyde romero <clyderomerof4 [at] bellsouth.net> wrote:I am watching the auction of muscle cars
Stupid money
For stupid cars
I sorta agree/disagree....Muscle cars are great, but I never could rationalize them being worthmegabucks. I guess we could dismiss them as one trick ponies, but then maybewe could do the same for vintage 250 series Ferraris that couldn't handle orbrake much better. So we're putting on our red colored glasses and showing a bias for exoticsover muscle -- which I fully endorse. Just look at a 250 SWB or 275GTB....gorgeous and much classier looking interior. Now a Cuda, Chevelle, Pontiac GTO are nice looking too in that muscle waybut not the same.So I'm ok with "elite" muscle going for 100-200k perhaps, but this$500k-$1M+ is insane. IIRC there may have been a $2 or $3M Cuda sold....anextremely rare 1 of 5, convertible with manual, etc. Silly.Like the 250 GTO version of muscle. The good news for muscle is that you can get more or less the same cars fora whole lot less if you're not obsessed with #s matching crap, original thisand that. There's no real stigma to doing modifications and what not tothese cars so long as you don't take them to the big auction houses.I believe one could get a "normal" muscle car for $50-60k these days (lessprobably) and do what they want. A far cry for a vintage Ferrari.FG_________________________________________________________________To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit:http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/misc%40308systems.comSponsored by BooyahMedia.comand F1 Headlineshttp://www.F1Headlines.com/_________________________________________________________________To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit:http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/clyderomerof4%40bellsouth.netSponsored by BooyahMedia.comand F1 Headlineshttp://www.F1Headlines.com/
