You always have the best reminder stories on how awesome the 308 is!

A properly set up 308 GTB is just stunning, and the drive is very nice.

Was this restaurant on Trolley?

This weekend I had a rare opportunity to get together with another local Ferrari owner and good friend. He has a gorgeous red/tan 308GTS. We stopped at a local Italian sandwich shop near my house. Susie and I eat there often and the owners/cooks know we have Italian cars. They regularly tease us for not bringing them out more often, so we figured that would be fun. Gil brought his 308 and I had the 355 spider. We parked them together in some empty spots towards the rear of the lot. Before we were out of the cars, half the restaurant staff was in the parking lot taking pictures.

As we were all walking back in to get lunch, it became obvious that the staff thought only the 308 was a Ferrari and really hadn’t paid any attention to the 355. This is especially ironic since Gil sometimes thinks of his car as “just” a 308 when newer cars are around. Once they realized they were both Ferraris they were out for another round of pictures.

I find it amazing that the 308 is so iconic that to many people, there are no other Ferraris besides it and the Testarossa. It is unquestionably one of the most beautiful cars of all time.

After lunch an SUV pulled up near the cars and a man asked if his kid could take a few pictures (kid had apparently been pointing and yelling as they passed by until Dad agreed to stop). We let the kid take some pics and then offered to let him take pics sitting in the cars. He got happily wide-eyed, and after giving a brief tutorial to his dad on how to use his iPad as a camera, he got some fun shots to take home.

Good day all around, but reinforced why it’s easy to see that 308s are climbing in value…
