I agree with you about Hemmings Sports & Exotics.

Below are a couple of letters I sent in and were published.

Your article about Bugeyes, brought back memories, most good a couple bad. The 59 Bugeye we drove to Las Vegas in 1967 to get married (still married). The middle night drives in
Los Angles to teach my wife to drive a manual transmission. I put a Judson supercharger on it, now it could not only corner but keep up with traffic on the freeway.
I will never forget the introduction to California's keep up with flow of traffic, we were on the harbor freeway doing the speed limit when a pair motorcycle
highway patrol officers slowed down beside us and with hand jesters took us to 15mph over the posted limit and then pulled away.

The bad, I was in a catch 22, in California you had to have insurance, to get insurance you had to have valid California drivers license.

On the way to take the drivers license I was rear ended broke taillight, replaced the light, when the drivers test was over on the way back to the testing station the
 fuel pump died.

I walked to the dealer bought a pump borrowed tools and replaced the pump. Compared to the 1st trip the 2nd was uneventful except the tester giving me a hard time
having not passed the 1st time at the beginning of the ride, but by the end I was praised by the tester, it did not hurt that I asked if it would be ok to remove
a fallen branch from the street, when given the ok, without leaving the Bugeye I drove beside it , reached down and drug it the curb.

I could not find an email address for the article about Jaguar ads.

I have been a long time admirer of E-type Jaguars.

I seem to remeber a Jaguar ad that said ' If you think you can buy a Jaguar and forget it, forget it'.  It was a full page ad showing the owner under the hood, out in the open air (outside).

I had a friend that dated a Dr.'s daughter. The Dr had an E-type and sold it to my friend, who promptly broke off the relationship with the daughter.

Then 2 weeks later showed up with a Mini Cooper S.

This was over 46 years so my memory so it might not been a S.

A story from school days, I had a friend that turned a snake into a car.  He cought a blue racer snake, he the traded it for a washer that did not work, he repaired the washer and traded it for a car.  That was 53 yrs ago.

Thanks, for a great magazine.

Also I have a complete set of Forza.

Deep, check out "Hemmings Sports & Exoric Car" magazine. Its now the only car rag that I read. It may not be of interest to those who enjoy only the latest and greatest automotive offerings, but for us older car fans, its outstanding.

I only get Classic and Sports Car (excellent) and Road and Track (not so excellent).
C&SC has the terrific spectrum of events/machines while R&T keeps me up to date on how to tell an S Class and Kia Optima from each other.
