Erik brings up a good point – “I do [have advanced degrees], so does my boss.” ”So does my boss” is a VERY important nuance. I, like many of you, have had various life experiences earning a living. Since I am not a gold prospector working only with my mule I had to work with, and for, many folks – many without degrees or degrees not related to our current mission. My degrees, AND my somewhat advanced military life, in my last life, became a hindrance. A few of my “bosses” were covertly and in some cases (‘so – just ‘cause you have - - - doesn’t make you right - - -‘) overtly outrageous. Mostly my fault because of my naiveté. And then drive a Porsche or Gawd forbid, a Ferrari to work - - - - oy vey ist mir. As my old pal Waclaw (Vots-lahv – he’s Polish) warned me – “Dah-Glas, never tell your boss in mixed company a joke he won’t get.” I’m not so sure I ever really learned that. Heh heh DOUG |
