Yep, two overhead and one in the crotch.  Thats an MK-H7.  I flew with a very similar GRU-7A but had much more overhead protection.

And yes, the SR guys and the escape pod guys (B58/XB70) used stirrups to pull their feet back upon ejection.  While the pod guys were cocooned, the SR guys potentially went into high mach air stream.  Ya kinda want something to keep your feet held down/together when you hit the airstream...  why?  Think of what you're going to be doing with that wishbone on your turkey later today...    I never had a punch-out but I had buddies who got sprained ankles from the airflow...  twisted knees, broken fingers...  its a quite violent ride... but beats dead every time.
