I haven't had a chance to tear down the old engine yet 

But I would like to hear from those who have torn down high mileage engines what they saw and where?

As you know this engine was running out of exhaust valve clearance in other words I could not get a small enough shim under her the cam shaft lobe to meet spec so the valve seat was eating into the head 

Which in turn would have eventually lead to a head job, which on any engine is a pain

The old 308 QV I had that had over 140K on it the valves were ok at the 120K service 

On another note I had to replace the old fuel rail with the injectors from the old engine on the new engine 

The injectors were clogged up on the 7-12 bank yet the old ones were fine 

Go figure
