I think the 488 is a pretty nice evolution of the 458, which I liked.

We’ll call it a revamp in 5 years. Whether it’s an upgrade is in the eye of the beholder… J

New, in the pattern they’ve had since the 308, which is to update drivetrain in one generation, body/chassis in next. Obviously there’s some of each in each model change, but they seem to concentrate engineering time on one or the other alternately:

308 > 328 – motor upgrade

328 > 348 – chassis upgrade

348 > 355 – motor upgrade

355 > 360 – chassis upgrade

360 > 430 – motor upgrade

430 > 458 – chassis upgrade

458 > 488 – motor upgrade

Whatever follows the 488 will presumably have a significantly different chassis/body.
