Well I found it

You know when you work on cars like I do you get a little complacent about things

Yea it happens

When I did the last major service on the car at 90K miles I replaced all the coolant hoses on the  TR

But one

And replaced them with marine hose which is wound with fiber which makes  virtually impervious   with regards to heat which the TR puts out like Chernobyl  in normal operation

The ideal hose is the silicon hose but they are available for my car

And while I am at it if they are available for your car get them, I run them on my race bike and never had a failure

Anyway back to the hose with the leak

It was the coolant overflow hose to the coolant recovery tank and the leak was at the elbow !

This hose had not been changed since the car was new

So I went to NAPA and bought some marine hose withnew clamps and its done

Moral to the story

Change all the hoses that you can for they will fail at the worst possible time

In victory you deserve Champagne

In defeat you need it!
