Speaking of full circle; I am finding Fortran to be best for acoustic data processing!!!

My first foray was on a Z80 but with tape - as in audio
cassette tapes :) I was 11 at the time (1979).
I guess I have almost gone full circle, as my current 'day
job' sees me programming in PICK.

Mine was in '79 on a Z80 running CPM. Booted from a one sided 8" floppy! On
that system I wrote code to digitize and process high altitude aerial
photography. After digitizing the images, they were transformed into the F-K
domain using the full Fourier transforms, forward and inverse. I don't think I
ever worked harder, learned more, or enjoyed work more in my tender 64
years.

My 1st programming ( paid ) job was in 1973 on a Wang 720C. It was the best
work I have ever done. 1982 bytes not K, meg, Gig, just BYTES. Full payroll, job
cost accounting, was the most rewarding.
