The beads - They Moved? I knew they were excited by the two wires - tho
there seem to be more than one wire going thru them - or maybe I can't see
in there well enough>

One of the mesh screens is about 3.5 in sq. and you can almost see the
beads. The other one - let me check - ah, CDC/Cray (didn't know Cray was
hooked up with CDC) is a 2 in sq. centered in the 4.25 frame. Those bead
are unseeable (sic). It almost looks like course canvas.

Who built these things? Says 'MADE IN U.S.A."

Core Memory!! Cool... fun to watch the little magnets flop back and forth
when they ran.

Real men use ESA/XA.... <grin>

Really, Fortran for data processing? It is fast! I remember carrying around 10lbs boxes of punch cards with Fortran77 homework. Uggghhhh!

Mine was in '79 on a Z80 running CPM. Booted from a one sided 8" floppy! On that system I wrote code to digitize and process high altitude aerial photography. After digitizing the images, they were transformed into the F-K domain using the full Fourier transforms, forward and inverse. I'm just not a Apple person. Never have been. Just not my religion. That said, and with the manufacturer ignored, a wrist worn computer is a pretty cool idea. No more rectangle imprints on women's butts, no more '80s-pocket-calculater-like holsters hanging from guys' belts. Not bad. Of course, it won't help the millenials who have to carry a movie screen around with them 24/7...but nothing says they can't have both!

Sorry, Ferrari content: My cat died a couple of years ago, and I have an IR thermometer and a timing light, both of which are gun-shaped.

ok guys, i always lurk, but rarely ever post at least for the past several years. so is this the 512TR market now? Clyde? this is a Sheehan car and he's never bashful about his pricing. Ferrari 512 TR s/n 90817 is priced very right in today's fast-moving market at $295,500 or best offer. 2 owners. same owner for past 23 years. 23k miles. BTW, I have no interest in this car and am very happy still driving my Fiat Dino Spider 2400. Just curious. I guess i better go check the AZ auction results.

?fourier? - - - now THAT?s a word I haven?t heard in long time.

I?m a junk collector of cool stuff. I have a CDC/Cray (??) [that?s what the guy told me] and a Univac memory board. 4.25 inches square with a mesh of little bitty tiny beads with tiny tiny wires running thru them.

I grew up with an IBM 409 card reader. Know where the size of the IBM card comes from? [like it matters now] Patterned after the bank note counting machines ? and the size of US folding money ? back in the 1890?s.

DOUG

PS ? for the Ferrari List - - - I also have various pistons from Ferari race cars. From something tiny to a 250LM to an F1 piston and rod. Of course everyone needs a McLaren 500ci Chevy (doesn?t exist) piston. Got that from Ed Pink.
