As Clyde lives in Atlanta, it's probably closer to 90 seconds this time of year.

A good preflight run for any Ferrari is to idle the car until the fans come on

I have done this all the time and it has saved me

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the cryptic message yesterday, I was trying to relay the results while on our boat last night and using voice recognition…..

To rephrase –

My no-fan issue troubleshooting steps were to:

1)      Apply 12v directly to the fans, and verified they work fine

2)      Pulled the thermostat wires, shorted them, but no fan

3)      Pulled up the color coded 308 wiring diagram that Paul Bennett made –THANKS PAUL THIS DRAWING SAVED THE DAY!!!!!!

4)      Checked continuity from blue relay wire to fan, and it was fine

5)      Checked continuity across fuse block and had none – problem!

6)      Pulled fuse block and cleaned it up, found that “Bartenders Friend” and a brass brush do wonders on cleaning aged brass contacts.

7)      Checked continuity on cleaned contacts – none

8)      Soldered a jumper wire across the top contacts, and soldered all rivets.  Checked continuity- none.  Resoldered every joint I could find, checked continuity – success!!

9)      Re-installed the fuse block, sanded the fuse ends to new metal, installed the fuses, shorted the thermostat wires and VOILA – FANS whirling like a Dervish.

The moral of the story – even when the fuse block was thoroughly cleaned, I still had no contact.  Thus, it is time to buy the birdman308 fuse block replacements and bring the 308 closer to the modern world - http://www.birdman308.com/fusebox_upgrade.htm

I then bled the system, burned my finger on hot antifreeze, and wondered why the factory “engineers” would use a thermostat bleed screw without an internal air hole.  I will now be buying this replacement bleed screw, with the proper internal air bleed hole -

16042940-EZ EZBleed Bolt, Thermostat Housing – Thru drilled to bleed without removing!!! 308, 328 others 2 oz $25.00

Thanks for all your ideas, the 308 is now back in fine running form.
