Thank you. FWIW, when I told my friend -- the one who had very recently worked on the car to successfully troubleshoot the suspected temperature sending unit problem -- that I was going to post something on the list asking for guidance, he suggested that I mention the following: Mention that I disconnected the rear plug 41019 "Engine connection, rear connector" (p.93 of "Workshop Manual Ferrari 512 TR Vol 2.pdf"). There are four devices on that plug: 1. Alternator 00206 2. Tachometer sender 04730 3. Oil pressure sender 04708 4. Coolant temperature sender 04706 I pulled the instrument cluster and disconnected its two plugs: 1. 20-pin A 2. 18-pin B I also disconnected for several hours. Perhaps the adaptation got out of synch. I did not disconnect anything else.

If I observed the sequences correctly -- and I think I did -- they were (for cylinders 7-12): - 1212 ("additive value for self-adaptation Lambda regulation" and "multiplicative value for self-adaptation Lambda regulation")
- 1211 ("lambda regulation") and
- 1121 ("RPM sensor")
But NOT 1114 ("lambda sensor"). Nevertheless, based on the above codes did my check engine light probably
illuminate due to problems related to the oxygen sensor? Should the next step be for me to clear all the codes, run the car and see
if the check engine light reappears and if the same (or some of the
same) codes reappear? Thanks, Larry

. . . .
I'm wondering whether I am having problems with an O2 sensor again. Last night I retrieved my car from my friend, who fixed my supposedly (according to a mechanic who previously had it) malfunctioning temperature sending unit problem. (The temperature gauge had been operating intermittently.) Short story is that there was nothing wrong with the sending unit (nor with the gauge). My friend tracked down corrosion on a critical connecting pin in the wiring harness.
Anyway, after having worked on the car on and off for a few days my friend had to jump start the car -- hence my separate search for a new battery -- but after that was done I drove off with no problem. Drove around 40 minutes in local traffic and everything (including gauges) seemed normal, but then the check engine light for cylinders 7-12 came on -- and stayed on, for the 20 minutes remainder of my trip home, during which everything still looked
and sounded normal. This afternoon I started the car and it idled roughly, RPMs swinging for several seconds between about 1100 and 1900, then the swings narrowing before stabilizing around 1400 (which, as I recall, is higher than it normally idles). And the 7-12 check engine light was on the whole time.
