Obviously they saw a sucker & took advantage of you. Didn't you get a quote
first?
You could have done it yourself with a new piece of plastic for pennies, or cleaned up the scratches with polishing compound. ----- Original Message ----- From: <ferrari-request [at] ferrarilist.com>

Total cost $277.50 canadian. Here is the run down:$26.24 for shipping it to WEST VALLEY (instrument specialists) in California from Montreal. $182.00 ($140 u.s., exchange rate 1.30, west valley charged me for repair and shipping.$69.26 Canada customs charged me. Total $277.50 canadianI should not be paying customs for an item that was sent for repair. This one I don't understand at all. West Valley put a value of $300 u.s. on the bill for insurance purposes. Then Canada Customs charged me on that value. Ridiculous. I think I'll take my chance and call Canada Customs. It's one of those things where you say to yourself 'if I had known beforehand, I would have left the foggy glass on. The clock was working and I could see the time anyway. All this because I could not get the stem out myself. I was afraid to break it.Oh well, the price of owning your Dream Ferrari Michael Savard (1981 308 GTSi)P.S.: I hope they didn't break it, I'll have to wait for spring to know. SCARY thought.-------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...URL: <http://lists.ferrarilist.com/pipermail/ferrari/attachments/20160331/c0cb044b/attachment.html>------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Thu, 31 Mar 2016 17:09:29 -0500 From: hunter.schultz [at] gmail.com To: Michel Savard <mysavard [at] videotron.ca> Cc: The FerrariList <ferrari [at] ferrarilist.com> Subject: Re: [Ferrari] $277.50 for a new glass for the clock Message-ID: <20160331220929.5464145.96784.49033 [at] gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" An HTML attachment was scrubbed...URL: <http://lists.ferrarilist.com/pipermail/ferrari/attachments/20160331/05c28a39/attachment.html>------------------------------ Subject: Digest Footer _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/listinfo/ferrari ------------------------------ End of Ferrari Digest, Vol 117, Issue 1***************************************
