Silly question, but if it is perfect, will it look original? 

That was the main reason I no longer judge FCA events and Cavallino.  After all, we are talking mid 80's Italian supply chains here.  Easiest way to tell if a 308 has been resprayed?  Look for orange peel, they came out of the factory with it.  And they look worse than what BMW has on dark metallics after they went to water based systems.

I've used Karosserie before on my 1939 Rolls-Royce Phantom-III. The bottom line is that I've heard some folks say that their work isn't at the standard it used to be. Also, their great great great metal worker, Rick Mullen, has moved on and has his own shop now, also in Pennsylvania. He is someone I'd strongly consider for a repair like this. He refabricated a section of my car's massive front fender by building a wood mockup of it, lead welding things together, etc. He's also a guy who will still work with lacquer paint, etc.

My recommendation would be Karosserie in King of Prussia, PA. They did my TR work after I lost my wheel years ago and the work was literally flawless. I could not find a single thing to fault and my local mechanic could not tell that the car had ever been worked on. They were expensive, but absolutely easy to work with, VERY astute in dealing with insurance companies, and did great work. They even came down to SC to fetch my car before the insurance adjustors could send a local guy so that they would be able to be present during the adjustor’s inspection.

 

15+ years later I still have not found anything less than perfect in the repair and the paint match remains perfect.

My euro 308 that I've had now for almost 20 years suffered some damage last week that will require a body shop. Specifically, the front fiberglass euro spoiler will need either significant repair or replacement, the front grille the same, and some of the metal body work will need paint repair. It really isn't that bad, but I want this done to a very very high standard. One thought I had is Rick Mullen up in Pennsylvania, but if you have any other recommendations for high end repair that my insurance will hopefully step up to the plate on, please feed me that info.

No one was hurt in the accident, not even the driver after his father found out about the incident.
