The lightening was indeed a fast jet
They used to practice intercepts on the Concorde when it flew coming into the UK
It was a manly jet to say the least

For me here in the UK its a summer of events. The Ferrari Owners Club National Meeting and the Silverstone Classic both in July. Goodwood in September plus a big Ferrari event at Silverstone in mid September.

On July 7th I have one of the In house designers at Marenello who helped design the new tdf come talk to my area group ( he's a member of the FOC in the UK and owns a 328). One of my members already has put 5k on his F12tdf here in the Midlands, and this upcoming Saturday I'm taking 10 Ferraris to Bruntingthorpe Airfield to visit the English Electric Lightening Preservation Group where they have 3 of these amazing interceptor fighters ( 2 in taxi condition, none are allowed to fly anymore). Even Clyde would admit they were a FAST jet!

It looks to be my last summer in the UK so lots to do.

Regards
Britt in the UK.

Well, the list has been awfully quite for sometime. Even on Grand Prix weekends. So, I decided to start something.

What’s your Ferrari connection for the summer ? Obviously, that is beside driving the car itself.

For me, it starts with my 50th Formula 1 Grand Prix race (my first one was 1978 Canada Grand prix) at Silverstone on july 8-9-10 and then an official visit to THE FACTORY on july 15th.
This is my second visit. I visited the factory in july 2009. I took a lot of notes as the tour guide talked. So much so, that another tourist asked me if I were a sportswriter. I still have my 2009 notes, I’ll compare them when I come back.

So, what’s your Ferrari summer connection ?

P.S.: I’m also going to Wimbledon on july 2nd.
