I really had no interest in or respect for American football until our own Fellippe Galleta explained it to me through the analogy of chess. I won’t try to
recreate that here since I know I won’t do his explanation justice, but it really was interesting to see it through the same strategist’s eyes that I enjoy with F1, rather than my previous analysis of a bunch of over-testosteroned thugs piling up on each other
every three minutes. I still don’t watch it, but I’m notably less judgmental about those who do now.
