Magnum?  He’s come a long way from a private dick to PC of NYPD.  Ah well – that’s movies.

As for the cars?  Ayep – several.  Peterson Museum has one of the early ones – 1979?

I recall the very first time he drives the 308 as Magnum. 

Car, with the roof affixed, is on the grass – he jumps in, unsnaps the roof – punches it and the roof flies off, down onto the engine lid, skids off as the rear wheels kick up great gobs of wet lawn. 

Ah yes – to drive it like you stole it.

The bottom of the seat was removed. His eyes were level with the roof otherwise.

 

Seat was probably replaced after the show.

 

There were several cars used in the show. A camera car for action scenes and a close up one for beauty shots. This looks like one of those cars.

 

Might have had more of them in the later years.

I thought the drivers seat was fixed to the floor to accommodate Tom's height? They claim it is stock.
