Did a pit walk on the Friday evening after dark at the Australia F1 GP a few weeks ago.  Saw lots of activity in the pits but almost no drivers there at that time, except Romain Grosjean and Sebastian Vettel, both working with their crews.  For a while, Seb seemed to be working out some sort of padding in various places in the cockpit and was busy measuring and cutting to fit.  What I though was interesting was 1) he was there at all in the evening 2) he was definitely hands-on, part of the team.

I have noticed that, like Schumacher before him, Vettel seems to be the only driver to thoroughly inspect the competitions cars in parc ferme'.

Also, Vettel apparently wants to be in the car for testing as much as
possible.

Schumacher was his hero, and he's trying to do similar things at Ferrari...
