I was really surprised in watching the start of the Monza F1 race this weekend that there was a Lamborghini Huracan Performante dressed up as some sort of pace
car behind the FIA Mercedes. Had the yellow light bar. Not sure what they were doing aside from maybe giving an equivalent middle finger to Ferrari at their home/namesake track.
I will say that Lamborghini’s unique approach to active aero on the Performante variant of the Huracan has me deeply intrigued. Very cool/clever if it works
as advertised. Early reviews seem to think it does. From: Ferrari [mailto:ferrari-bounces+charles=carolina-sound.com [at] ferrarilist.com]
On Behalf Of Rick Moseley In today's world, it may be a waste of time to explain anything to a millennial... There are a few exceptions out there but most have had their minds
rotted by those in the ivory tower. But.... When I have these conversations I go to racing. Point out how many Ferraris have won how many races and that the only way Lambos win any race is when
they have their own series. side note: Many years ago at Concorso Italiano (when it was still at Quail) Lambo had a huge presence as they were unveiling a new cabriolet something.
I walked over and watched as they pulled the cover off and "Meh". The rather obnoxious Lambo guy spent 10 minutes extolling the virtues of this car then looked off to the sea of Ferraris and asked. Does anyone know what Ferrari means in Italian? ...silence.
Then in a rather whiny voice he said "Oh, I wish I had bought a Lamborghini!". Then he asked in a very manly voice "Does anyone know what Lamborghini means in Italian" and before he could utter a word an older Gent standing next to Mario (who was raffling
his Lambo that weekend) said very loudly and imitating the same whiny voice "Oh, I wish I could win a race!" The crowd erupted in laughter and the pitch guy turned red as the Ferraris he was trying to put down.
From: Fellippe Galletta <fellippe.galletta [at] gmail.com> Is it a waste of time trying to explain to a 25 year old enthusiast why a 250 GTO is better than a Miura if he is inclined to think the opposite? FWIW I'm not sure a Miura is better than a Daytona even if it looks nicer. Discuss. :D FG _________________________________________________________________ |
