Here are some of the things going on in Austin that are Ferrari centric.  If you are an FCA member, you can go to the big party Friday night before the race, however, act fast as seating is limited!

Bust out your calendar cause here are a bunch of fun car events coming up!

Saturday, October 14th, 6:00 p.m.
(5:30 if you are bringing your Ferrari)
Return of the Red Violin!
2013 Surrey Hill Drive

An intimate evening and concert with Elizabeth Pitcairn and the most famous Stradivarius in the world - the "Red Violin". Louise Thomas will be accompanying her. Dilum and Surangi are opening their home for this special event as a fundraiser for the CHAMPS program which is an outreach program for junior high and high school students in Austin who have a musical gift. For those who may not remember, Elizabeth and Louise performed at the Formula 1 reception last year to a standing ovation. The evening is cocktail attire.  If you are planning on attending, please email Leah Nelson at leahceleste@gmail.com.

Thursday, October 19, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Formula 1 Chat with Mark Webber
Special Olympics Texas Headquarters
1804 Rutherford Lane

The Special Olympics are hosting this interactive event that is being sponsored by Porsche of Austin and Red Bull. It's $40 per person or $150 for 4 tickets with the funds going to sponsor Special Olympics Texas athletes. Mixer starts at 6pm, Mark's presentation is at 7pm and photos with Mark are from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. You can purchase tickets at www.sotx.org/chat-with-mark-webber or call 512-835-9873 for more information.

Thursday, October 19, 7:00 p.m. - until
Buxton Bash

Clearport
516 E 6th St

Spend the evening with NBC F1 reporter Will Buxton and his friends, drivers, special guests from Formula 1. 100% of the $10/ person donations (or your own donation amount) at the door goes to the Susan G Komen Foundation of Austin. Lots of great F1 related giveaway items.  Our friends at Speed City, Les Kiser, Jonathan Green, and John Massengale, are helping Will host this event which was specifically scheduled for Thursday evening so as not to conflict with our Formula 1 reception on Friday.  Always a blast!

Friday, October 20, 7:00 p.m.
Ferrari Club of America Formula 1 Reception
Austin Country Club

4408 Long Champ Drive

This is the party of the year! Doors open at 7:00 with happy hour to view the priceless collector cars and enjoy the sounds of the Gabriel Santiago Trio. Once again, our collector friend, Jacques Vaucher, will be displaying his extensive collection of Ferrari memorabilia.  Also this year you can bid on original art by Kevin Paige.  Kevin's art work is on display around the world and in the home of a number of Formula 1 drivers.  His home in Houston was flooded and some of his pieces received water damage.  He is auctioning off those pieces with 100% of the revenue going to the Houston Food Bank to help feed those who are still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Harvey.  In addition, Pirelli is donating a Formula 1 tire coffee table to be auctioned off to benefit the Texas School for the Blind.

Dinner will be served from 8pm until 9pm. Once again, the chef is preparing a great meal that features two great Texas dishes - beef tenderloin and jalapeno apricot quail.

At 9:00, touring artist, TV and movie personality, but all Austin, is Dale Watson and his Lonestars with brass!! As they say, if something ain't movin' on your body when Dale is playing you need to turn up the hearing aid. And there will be a dance floor if you are so inclined to swing the night away.

We are working on a list of distinguished guests which, as you can imagine, can be volatile but we do have a few surprises.

If you haven't made your reservation yet, there are 16 seats left in the house so you'd better do it now or hear everyone else talking about it.  And just in case you've missed every post about this before, the link is still:

https://ferrari-club-of-america-hill-country-chapter.myshopify.com.

You will see an “Opening Soon” screen.  Click on “Enter your password” in the top right corner.  The password is “Tifosi”.

Saturday, October 21 - Sunday, October 22

USGP at the Circuit of the Americas

Hard to imagine but there are still members who have never experienced this race.  As a veteran of multiple Formula 1 races in multiple countries, I can tell you that this is an awesome track for a lot of reasons but for you, the spectator, the viewing options are fantastic and we blocked what I consider to be the best options in the house for members of the Ferrari Club with seats at the top of Turn 12 and the middle of Turn 15. And if you aren't happy with those, we have our own ticket guru who will get you exactly what you are looking for.  If you are looking for Turn 4, 12, or 15, use the link below.  Once those are sold out or if you are looking for something else, call Jimmy.  His contact information is below.
