Years ago in Monterey after a morning at Quail and an afternoon running our TransAM car at Laguna many of us were around a fire pit back at the hotel "bench racing". Chris Darling's wife approached our group and stood listening too us for a few moments, reached down and took their room card out of Chris' front pocket and scoffed at us... "Silly Boys and your cars... don't you know a car is merely something to get you to the jewelry store?!?!"
