The same can be said for any market really. If a person is well connected in the collector/exotic car community, they can seek out a good buy directly with the owner (before the brokers and barn-find hunters start sniffing around).
As for online sales, I came across this auction site a long time ago. It prompted me to look when reading one of those stories about abandoned exotics being auctioned off for dirt cheap 😉

Really? So if I were to see a car listed for sale on a Kuwaiti car dealer website, I couldn’t buy it and have them export it to me?
If that’s the case, what could stop a Kuwaiti from opening up a dealership to exclusively export cars to us here in the West? If they’re truly going for that CHEAP, they could pad the price comfortably for profit and still undercut American/European dealers/sellers. Sounds like win-win to me.

Subject: Re: [Ferrari] Random thought of the dayThe caveat is either you live in Kuwait or have the connections to know of a potential sale.
So any native, resident, visa holder can buy and export but you can't just fly here on a tourist visa for 90 days and buy a car to send it home.
Sorry for the confusion. It was meant to say you couldn't just pick up and move here to do just that.
And given how anti social Kuwait is, I only know this because a coworker who is a car but like us has lived here for ten years and actually assimilated into the culture.
This is also a country where total strangers could offer you their car to test drive soon after meeting you.
I'm told he was offered to straight up borrow a 911 from a potential seller he just met "go ahead, take it and let me know what you think."
Hahaha, too funny....and a little bit scary too. :)
Esp the part about "not returning the car and being considered stolen" resulting in you being "picked up by the police at 9, and by noon you're swingin'"......haha!!
No thanks!

So if exporting is not difficult, what did you mean by your comment (in one of these previous emails in this thread):
“The caveat is you'll need cash and a Kuwaiti visa.”
I’m curious about the need of a visa. Do these purchases need to be made in person?

Can Kuwaiti cars be easily exported?
Ferrari arbitrage isn’t unprecedented (says the owner of two Euro imports). J

Clyde prices :
A very real thing in Kuwait.
Not everyday, all the time. But if I am to believe a trusted source, in the right scenario it happens quite often. Almost like its a police auction for nice cars, haha.
It's as if Clyde lived here his whole life. Then goes to the states to report those prices as normal. LOL.
Kuwaitis have nowhere near the ego that Americans do selling cars. You catch him in a pinch, you're getting a deal.
