Remember, they’re asking prices 😉 I agree though, it’s rather insane, but I wouldn’t be surprised if taking inflation into account, we’re nowhere near asking prices during the late ‘80s/early ‘90s. I remember reading the auction results (in a ‘90s edition of Cavallino, don’t remember the issue off the top of my head) and seeing a 308 GT4 sell for over $100K!!! 1990s dollars!!! Now that’s nuts. Since the peak of 2015, I’m noticing prices are coming down for GT4s, especially 208s in Italy, as examples are either not moving or are listed at lower amounts after a prolonged period. I can believe I missed the boat to sell my car and cash in, but hey, I still have it. I never bought it to make money because at that time, you couldn’t give GT4s away. The same could be said for many Ferraris, especially all of the ones that have four seats.

I recently saw a 1960s Alfa Giulietta Sprint Speciale up for sale for $170K! Damn, I almost bought one in 1997 for $19K CDN but passed on it because I thought it was too much as it needed lots of work (and I was still in school back then)! Arrggghhh!

In all fairness though, for 1976, the 308 GTB was the cat’s ass. A Mustang II had what, 110HP back then? All exotic cars were quite shitty in build quality and performance wasn’t what it used to be, but comparing amongst their peers, it was all one could get at the time. Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini (especially them) were all lucky to make it out of the ‘70s alive.

In the end, it’s nostalgia a person is buying, they have the money and not a lot of time left. Can you blame them?

Ok I have decided to call this the Clyde Chronicle’s or why  does the Ferrari Market Letter let stupid people advertise their car and their Name !

Ok so I am getting the Market newsletter again and low and behold nothing has  changed

They are still out there

Yes Virginia they live and breed

With deep pockets and shallow minds no less

So I know there are those who read this list that remember the early 308  Carb fiberglass fire starters (someone has to have a dog eared copy of the road and track test of the car )

This car needed a fire extinguisher as an option

Anyway this car just looked good for  its  time and it was a Ferrari

Like a flat chested girl with a push up bra

It had 14 inch wheels and I forget now but in a hard left hand turn the low oil pressure light would come one

That didn’t even happen in a Chevy Vega!

Sooooo in the latest Market Letter you have 2 guys from the same state ( NY it must be the water )

That are asking $167,500 for the fiberglass shit box

I kid you not

Not $167,499 but $167,500

Does anyone remember the Lotus Europa John Players Special fiberglass shopping cart?

This is the Italian version in RED!

One guy says it still has the plastic on the door panels

A great option since you will throw up a lot in the car!

Oh yea one car has are you ready 76,000 miles on it

This guy must have worked in a CIA black sight doing water boarding for a hobby

I mean that’s a lot of miles in a TUNA CAN from Italy

These 2 brain surgeons really think they can get this amount of dead presidents for a car that a Honda Fit can out accelerate  it UP HILL!

The Honda would have A/C that would work as well.

But the 2 cars have tool roll and books, that’s  it

I am in !

Gotta buy it

That’s what I needed to see

Did  I mention the Jack Too?

I mean have you ever seen a Ferrari Jack?

It looks like an Erector set from a 3rd world country!

Well that’s it for now guys ( are there any women on this LIST ?)

No offense

No offense ( hey Big Head Dennis  your lawyer am I safe here?)

Stay tuned for the 3 year old

La Ferrari with 85 miles on it

The gas in the tank  has separated more than the Us relations with North Korea!
