$20k, 30 mpg +, and rock solid reliability.

Also, you could casually spank most exotics on track.

Ok guys.  In order to deal with the fact that I am way ahead of the miles on my lease, I am going to give Hannah - my daughter- the Civic.  So, I am looking for a new daily driver.  Commute is 30 miles each way, so 1.5 - 2 hours a day. Budget is a soft $20k

Short list at the moment:
BMW i3
Lexus CT200h
Mazda Miata

Shockingly insurance is cheaper on the Miata and most expensive on the Lexus.

Leaning towards the BMW as fun, economical and quirky.

Wanted an Elise but really not practical enough to justify the additional insurance and maintenance costs - not to mention crappy a/c and my old back.

Please, discuss.
