Factory tour, pictures allowed unlike Ferrari's factory tour. Lunch. with the Porsche Factory rep. A detailed explanation of how how it should driven b4 the first valve adjustment (1500 miles), 5000 rpm in any gear, get off the autobahn 100 km b4 your destination and run through the gears and revs. Also let the engine to idle for one minute b4 shutting it off to prevent oil cooking in the tubo. The first service was not free like it was in the USA. We were Trier when it was time for the 1st service, went to a Porsche Dealer and while we were waiting another Porsche
was hit by the service personal, so we left and went back to factory and ad it done there. At first tech said no, then I talked the factory rep and it was done, they arranged hotel and travel. I got to drive the Nordschleife. One thing that stand out in my memory BEER vending machines
on the Porsche Factory floor. I could have sold it for more than I paid New, Used in Germany. I have picture of the trip but no negs or slide as they lost in a garage fire caused by a dehumidifier. I still have the Porsche that lives with the Ferrari. I also had betamax tape of the drive around the Ring.

Great story! What was Euro delivery like?In 1986 we bought a Porsche 944 Turbo European Delivery. When we got home we saw the 1st Ferrari 308 Spyder in the flesh. My wife said when she saw them side by side ‘kind of makes ours look like a frog, doesn’t it’. So when we got the chance to buy 308 GTSi when I was 60, because if I did not do it then we would never get a Ferrari.Stephen L ShermanSent from my iPad ProSmall dick.

I had to. My wife is Italian and my back ground was Porsche – and the horses on the badges are the same. Sorta.
