Good to hear a long-term report on the rads are positive. It’s not just plastic bleeder screws that break. I broke my brass bleeder screw on my 308. It’s amazing how much coolant flows out when you’re trying to stop that! I replaced it using a Grade 8.8 Allen head cap screw, which I carefully drilled out the center, then drilled the cross bleeding hole. Topped it off with a press-fit plastic hand tightening knob (like the ones HERE, but in black). Will last forever. The heater valve is servo-operated on your car, correct? It was probably a loose connection. For the amount of mileage and age of the vehicle, these “problems” are nothing. Modern cars can have a hella lot worse... I can only imagine what a Tesla owner would do if the center control console screen goes dark! My friend’s Toyota RAV4’s back-up radar sensor crapped-out after he had suffered a very minor hit-and-run in the back bumper (someone hit him and left). I kid you not, it was around 8 months before it finally got resolved and fixed. The dealer went through the last attempt (after six different attempts. Replaced bumper caps, radar modules, sensors, calibrating, etc) and if that didn’t work, they were ready to take the SUV back and give him another one. So far, it hasn’t tripped the service beep and light! Knock on wood! And by the way if you blow a radiator DO NOT BUY THE FACTORY REPLACEMENT
Call wizard cooling it’s what I have and they are great replacements
The mere fact they have petcocks and not the insane plastic screws that the original have makes it a plus
Those horrible little screws make it prison work !
Anyway did the change no leaks issues
Got the fans to come on, first try
Bonus
And did a road check
I have been having an issue with the heater valve
In other words the heater was not working
Well now it is!!!!
Go figure
And on top of that I had a check engine light 1-6 bank for some time
The airframe has 107K on it so you expect small squawks
I knew it was a nuisance light so I was going to reset the system
Not now!!
Sooooo
As the story goes
This car has its own mind
Gotta go guys
Scars are Tattoos with better stories !
If you have no enemies, you have no character !
