Primitive skills....? He was an untrained pilot who augered in. Says it all (about the X-Box generation)
He was in a hurry to be the first one to the site of the accident.
As cLyDe has mentioned before, it's a vocation that is self cleansing.

I’m certainly not a pilot although I always wanted to be one. A friend did let me pilot a plane once while we were airborne.
This is kind of like one of Doug stories. I’m sitting in the left-hand pilot seat, with an experience jet pilot next to me and another flight instructor in the backseat of a small single engine plane. They go OK take the controls. Although I read several books on flying and successfully landed the space shuttle on my iPhone, I’ve never flown before. I did OK for a while but then I think I went into a death spiral and they started laughing finally recovered the plane for me and we flew onto the destination. I felt so good with the skills I picked up over that hour of flying to remark I think I could land this plane. The pilot next to me said “I know you could but probably not in one piece!”
Which brings me to the point that wasn’t covered much on TV. The guy that hijacked that plane and did loops and barrel rolls must’ve had more than primitive pilot skills???
