Being married to a genuine southern debutante, that reminds me of my favorite joke that my lovely wife tells.

Three southern belles, in fact, sorority sisters, are in rocking chairs on the veranda, passing a hot summer day bysipping mint juleps and talking about presents that they got for college graduation.

The first keeps prattling on about her daddy, Beauregard, taking her on a tour of Europe. The third girl said: "That's nice...."

The second belle said her Daddy bought her a diamond necklace, and a new sports car. The third girl responded with, "That's nice..."

The first asks, "Well, what did your Daddy do for you?"
The third replies, "He sent me to finishing school."

The second belle asks, "Finishing school? What did you need with finishing school after college?"
The third replies, "That's where they taught me to say 'That's nice...' instead of 'Fuck you.’"

And Rick you’ll get a kick out of this, my father in law is now the oldest living alumnus of the Citadel.  Class of ’36.

Sounds better spoken than read.   (cents vs sense)

Classiche certification does increase the value / salability of the car.  I have no heard it had to be redone every 2 years.  Also think it's odd that many things on a car can be changed (exterior color, interior etc).  I guess the only real concern is engine and trans being correct.  But Ferrari can cast new blocks and stamp them with the old VIN and engine #'s.

Really? What’s involved, just a cursory check, or the full inspection all over again?

I’m reading ENZO magazine #6. Article on Ferrari Classiche:

Luca di Montezemolo started the program in 2007.
They have 23 people restoring about 85 cars a year to their original period specification. Cars must be at least 20 years old to be accepted in the program. Every 24 months you must renew your Certification to be able to keep it official.
There are 66 certification centres worldwide.

From the article: “….currently there are 81,000 Ferraris aged 20 years or older, of which 14,000 are known to Ferrari and around 6,000 already certified”.

Other articles: 456 vs 612, 365 GTC/4 vs 365 GTB/4 (Daytona), etc.
I got the whole series (6 magazines) and it’s pretty good. Comes out every 3 months.
