The ground strap you found on Amazon/Ebay (or if you go to any auto parts store) can still be used if you’re able to find the unique connector and attach it to it in place of the conventional “eye”. Yes, your photo did show up in your email.

 

Try Digi Key - https://www.digikey.ca/ - they have a tremendous selection of components and, as you’re in Quebec, the link I provided is their Canadian website, which they have warehouses up here that offer quick shipping (cheaper too). Since you didn’t provide any detailed dimensions of the connector (5cm is too vague), I can’t search for you, so you’ll have to look on your own. Be prepared as they have thousands of connectors! Try to get as much info as you can with the connector you have and input it into their extensive search fields.

 

If you don’t get anything in your search, you may have to replace BOTH ends (the one on your ground strap and the connector on the battery).

I decided to change my braided battery ground strap with connectors (one male and one female). The red connector housing simply needs a wash. I bought one strap before I had separated the connector from the red connector housing. The strap I bought has 2 female ends. So, it’s useless. I searched on Ebay and Amazon for a strap with a male connector (2” long, 5 cm) and a female connector and just can’t find one.

Can anybody help me ?
