The biggest mods were that they expected me to pull out the studs used to screw down the carburettors and use hex screws. I didn’t want to do that, and the nuts didn’t fit because the throttle body was too close to the stud, so I had to machine some meat away from the stud to fit a nut. That was quite time consuming, all up.

 

The second thing was the kit for the throttle was pretty useless and needed modification. FROM MEMORY, and it’s a few years ago already, I couldn’t get full throttle with their setup….but my memory may be playing tricks. I do recall, however, that considerable time and modifications were needed to make it work.

 

I sent borla the feedback with photos, and I’d be surprised if they didn’t modify the setup to make it work.

So that was the old TWM Induction set-up... I’d be curious to know what mods were needed, as when I first heard about it many years ago and saw their online info, it did look to be “bolt-on”.

I bought them from Borla. They were meant to be a kit that bolted straight on. That didn’t work out exactly as advertised, but Borla came to the party and covered some of my costs and I’m sure they’ll have modified their system after my feedback.

Hi Peter,

Congrats on the rebuild. Nice increased torque and hp over stock!  Interested in knowing more about the 8 individual throttle bodies... What did you use / who makes them?

Just rebuilt my ’76 308GTB engine. Did all the usual things that one does with rebuilds these days, plus installed Euro cams.

 

I also have 8 throttle bodies and injection. Looks stock. Sounds stock (very important) but makes the car run great.

 

270hp @ 6750rpm

312nm @ 3500rpm

 

Pretty happy with that result.
