Thoughts - Lotus Elise / Exige

There was an Evora 400 at the track event I did yesterday at Daytona. He was
all over the Ferraris through the infield. Of course, they started walking him
on the banked oval portions just on power, but in the first turn braking zone
he was glued to their bumper again. Pretty cool, and much roomier than
Elise/Exige. I assume they haven't hit your target price yet, but even a nice
Elise/Exige should be fully depreciated by now. Buy one at $35, run it for a
year, sell it for $35 was the advice I got from one knowledgeable friend when I
was thinking of a dedicated track car.

Erik is right. It is a small and compact car but not much worse than the garden
variety vintage exotic.

There are lots of tall drivers enjoying their waist high space ships with nary
a complaint.

Modern driver width is the real issue. Vintage human body types always mix
better with exotic cars.

The Elise/Exige is a departure from the other cars you describe. They are so
different that I wouldn’t even compare them.

The Elise is so light and nimble that the experience becomes something else
completely.
