Good story!
I had a brand new 1979 RX-7 GS when I was 23. Drove
it as a daily driver for ten years and put 167K miles on
it. Underpowered, but it was fun and reliable.

Those are great!
My best friend in high school had one. He got busted pacing an
off duty cop doing 96 in a 55 one week after his 16th bday.
Judge fined him so bad, his Dad took him and his license to the
DMV and officially had it revoked.
This spared him from the inevitable insurance premium
increase.
I just picked up a time capsule for fun and
giggles. 1979 Mazda RX-7 "Limited" (1 of 3,000)
with just 24K miles on it. Bone stock
original.
I'm going to play around with it, go to
some car shows and then probably flip it this summer
on eBay.
