Thanks for posting the address Doug!

As for this program, I suppose then, ALL official Ferrari-sponsored events will require not only Classiche-certification, but also completion of either one of their driving academies (their original and now this)?

They don’t go into detail on how one uses their own classic car. Only on the last day does it say “Free practice with a demo or the (sic) own vehicle”...

Regardless, I’ll pass too.

Peter

When we were in Modena in 1999 I made it a point to stop by the Ferrari dealership and visit the parts department to make contacts with the parts guys.  A few could speak English.

Until the lire disappeared I did a ton of business with them.  Price from Ferrari about 25% us US price + DHL shipping (just the way they did it - ) added another 25%.  So for about half of what it would cost me in US I got the parts or books or brochures and in one case – the factory uniforms for which I still have a few.

And then came in the Euro.  Prices went to 125%, in Italy, of what it would cost me here.  Thus endeth a fun time at:

I used to get Ferrari things from Ferrari as an owner via both email and mail. Not sure when and why that stopped....

Yeah, got that. Interesting that they are trying to teach people how to drive technology that they haven't made in 35 years. Looks fun, though. Shopping trips to Modena to get those pesky "guest attendants out of the way.

Ferrari Classiche Academy

Dear Robert Garven,

Only those who own classic Ferraris enjoy the privilege of reliving the thrill experienced by the great drivers of the past who contributed to Ferrari's unique history. The dynamics, sensations, sounds and technique involved in driving a classic Ferrari are completely different to a modern one.

But owners can now further hone and deepen the experience of driving - and becoming one with - those great thoroughbred cars thanks to the Ferrari Classiche Academy course.

This new initiative is the first of its kind and comprises two days of theory combined with track driving at Fiorano. Ferrari Classiche experts will familiarise participants with the history of classic cars.

Driving cars with mechanical transmissions and no electronic controls whatsoever also opens up the possibility of taking part in classic car events, such as regularity trials and concours d’elegance.

All to ensure you make the very most of every moment behind the wheel of your Ferrari.
