This is my overwhelming memory of The List as well, and probably the reason I
got into Ferraris. I bought my TR at 27, so I was shopping around 25/26. No
dealer took me seriously at that age, and the local Porsche dealer was such a
condescending ass to me that I wrote to PCNA to make them aware. They must've
cared since he later called to apologize.

But there were many listers who freely shared keys, and that's how I figured
out what I wanted. Marc Kilburn with his Testarossa, Bart Durham with his F355
spider, you with your 328, and I'm sure there were others. I remember one
particularly fun mountain drive with your 328 since I had come to a gathering
in something less interesting and you said you weren't going to use it for the
afternoon. Listers have always been very generous and education-oriented to
newbies. I've tried to pay that forward over the years since it was so
important to me early in my involvement.

I think the Los Alamos guy you were thinking about was Joe Martz. He brought
the black Countach to Hallett and eventually had a Testarossa and then a string
of Diablos. Again, his was the only Countach I've ever driven (at Hallett,
after the track day). It broke my heart since I literally couldn't sit in it
without my head being bent over 90 degrees on my shoulder, but I can at least
say I've driven one because of The List.
