Clyde,

Thanks much for the reply.  No, I don't have any fears about NAPA batteries per se.  Do you happen to know the model number of your NAPA battery?

Actually I have a NAPA battery in my 512 with no issues what so ever
If you still have fears about that get an Interstate battery

There were a few times over the past winter that I neither drove, nor even warmed up my 512TR, and -- compounding the neglect -- didn't connect it to a trickle charger.  Predictably, when I then tried to start it, I discovered that the battery was dead. The last couple of months I've had it on a CTEK 3300 trickle charger.  However, when I then tried to start the car (after the charger indicator lights indicated that the battery was charged), it wouldn't turn over.  More specifically, when the key is turned to the initial ("accessories"?) position, all the lights glow brightly, but then, when I turn the key further clockwise to start the car, I think only two lights (maybe for the brakes) glow (dimly) -- and the engine doesn't "turn over."  Most likely dead battery?  If so, recommendations for a replacement?  I currently have a less than 4 year old NAPA 9834R battery in the car.
Not only do I have no idea how I originally chose it, but the NAPA website is now telling me that it is not an appropriate battery for my car.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated; needless to say(?), I would like a better alternative to driving the car to the ghetto and leaving it there.

Thanks,
Larry
