I spent 3 years in Germany and was joking around with some Luftwaffe guys telling them how much I loved Rot Kohl (red cabbage).  They said that I must be a Kohl Kauf (cabbage head) like someone else they knew. I slowly realized that they were making a not so subtle joke about their Prime minister, Helmut Kohl!!!  I just laughed and played dumb.

During a Reforger deployment  we deployed out of 
Hann,Bitburg,Sarebruken etc

The German Air Force was running the air battle mostly over the Black Forest in Bavaria 

Now all German pilots speak great English 

They understand everything, most of them trained at Holman AFB NM

So me being the smart ass that I am after the week of 

Low levels at NO FEET all over the so called Black Forest

During a debrief I stand up an say

“ General I flew all over that forest and I didn’t see one black person, can you explain that?”

The luftwaffe fighter guys broke out in laughter!!!
