Let’s see, you have 10k boomers retiring PER DAY, and GEN X just starting to enter their peak earning years, and as Clyde has pointed out, they don’t have the same purchasing habits as their parents.
We live in a dynamic environment, yet we teach decision making on steady state models because the math is easier...
Don’t know what it means - but learned two interesting “facts” last week. Interviewed with a fellow that owns about a dozen auto dealerships - sales MtM by YtY are off 5-10% across the board - economy to luxury. At the same time, at my current job, we have
noticed that the number of people driving without insurance has doubled - from 20 to 40 percent of all incoming files. So, it seems like despite rumors of a good economy, people are NOT spending.
On a similar note, because of the aforementioned slowdown, I will be leaving my current employer. Time to take the reins again and control my future. Anyone have any great ideas for a new start up or franchise?

This came to mind...
Well, considering the air shows I've been at recently they are not "flying" either... Still owned and flown by old timers. Yes, older than me. Almost Clyde's age!!

Sales down 34% (by total amount) over last year.
Excuse start flying in 3…2….
My hearing is pretty good.
When he opened the bidding, he clearly said thirteen. Not 30. All successive million dollar increments, he said “___teen” not “___ty”
It’s the guy (or girl) typing for the screen who misheard.

And then you get this blunder.
$13 million, $30 million, what difference does it make...
You guys don’t get it the new money isn’t interested in cars
They don’t even own a watch, they use the cell phone for time
They don’t care about driving hence Uber
They don’t want big expensive houses either
They want safe schools and great family vacations
And if you think that car market is bad the us vintage stuff is in for a religious experience!

And it was only a couple of years ago, the majority of those cars would’ve been sold in a flash (and at record prices).
Time flies when you’re having fun.

Hmm, looks like the chandelier didn’t partake of the open bar this weekend. This is more unsold lots than normal.
