All,

I am working on my 74 308 GT4 and having a very hard time trying to get the clutch adjustment sorted out.
Since I have 2 cars I can compare them. On my 75 US car I can set up the clutch in 5 minutes. I have probably spent
4-5 full days trying to get this one adjusted correctly. For some reason the helper spring assembly whats to catch as
it passes its center point which seems rational but its is supposed to swing by there smoothly. I have disassembled
all the parts several time using tons of grease. Not sure if any of the 308 experts still hang out here just wondering aloud!
I have some ideas I havent tried yet but wanted to see if anyone could ad some advice.

I am thinking about replacing all the parts but wondering if after I do I still have the same problem so trying to exhaust all
avenues. I had some slack in the line and adjusted the cable at the front to be as my 75 and that helped take some slack out.
I moved the lever coming out of the bell housing over one spline and that seemed to help but ended up having only a few
threads at most holding the #4 turnbuckle on…..

I cant give up on this car 409 it's the sister to my 410 and determined to get it sorted out. I promised it a new life of luxury
and smooth pavement and have to follow through!

Some background the builder put the complete soft clutch kit on and it felt horrible, (compared to my 1975) to me so he put all the old parts
on and I added a few more to make it OEM.

Peter and Brian have been helping me, and for that I am most grateful, but jealous of Clyde as I have only 200 miles in 3 years on the car.
Every time he posts, “I just drove 3000 miles” I want to post “just laid under the car for 6 hours"!  HAAA

Rob
