Jokes aside, guys, I found this on the ol’ interwebs...

 

If you look closely at the right hand side of this photo, near where there is a red tag that says: “Rossocorsa” and has the Ferrari & Maserati logos, look at the cylindrical object and that is the oil pressure sending unit.

 

At the base of the oil filter housing, you’ll see a complex cast aluminum tee with braided stainless lines and that feeds oil to both turbos and this pressure sending unit.

 

Okay cLyDe, if you say there’s no room and you don’t mind replacing the unit on a regular basis, I’m cool with that...

So I took a look at the parts diagram for the 575...

 

I see that the sensor is mounted way down there, on the bottom front of the oil pan assembly.

 

So there is no room to plumb a hose to mount that sensor to another location? Even when you remove that front belly pan, you can’t find a convenient location on that front subframe to mount it?

 

If I’m not mistaken, I think Ferrari did the exact same thing with the 288 GTO/F40.

Remote mount it.

 

Whatever thread it uses, have a high-pressure hose made up, or find a suitable one already made, thread it in and route it to an area where the sensor wouldn’t be subjected to the harsh (or less harsh) conditions it’s already in.

 

Maybe even install a tee fitting and have a small mechanical gauge on one side and the sensor on the other (to verify readings).

 

I did this for my truck when I rebuilt the motor. Worked great.

Ok did a round robin to CLT out of ATL ( you guys will learn your city codes before this so all over!) one of my good friends had a retirement party from AA, 40 years of flying! 

Car turned 32,000 plus on this trip so I’ve put a little over 5 K on it since I picked it up in late May.

Oil pressure sensor is acting up, again!!!

Above 4K the pressure pegs to 140!!!!

Below that it returns to the 70 Psi level

This is the second sensor it’s had and to be honest the damn thing sits in a horrible place

That’s really about it 

What is it with the Mustang crowd anyway?

Why do they feel that they have to rev the engine, drop a gear and make noise when they see a Ferrari on the interstate?

Had 2 do this on the way home today.

Oh well

It is what it is. 

Big trip coming up in early November, cold weather starts, you name it, maybe even some SNOW!!!!
