A big part of the excitement is the required bias ply tires.
They need more slip angle in corners which results in a lot of passing and drifting...
Watched a re-run of the hour long main event. Cobras, TVR, Jag, etc. Great racing.
Race car tech has done exactly what it's supposed to do, make the cars go faster. But somehow, the faster they go, the less interesting they get.
